I like impractical shoes, especially when they are made of red velvet or any variety of glitter. I like fancy lingerie that only comes out to play on special occasions. I like serving platters of colorful macarons because they look “pretty.” I like reading and re-reading issues of Lula Magazine in bed, and I like carrying miniature perfumes in my purse. I like the little luxuries, however silly and impractical they might be. Most of all, I just like being a girl…

As a floral designer and shop owner, my I wear a lot of jeans and turtlenecks. Not everything about working with flowers is glamorous. But on Sundays when I go to church I am at my most girly. I wear pretty dresses, jackets and shoes. Carry the cutest vintage handbags and wear amazing jewelry. I recently began carry a tiny tube of rose scented lotion in my bag. I need to find ways to bring more of the pretty into my day-to-day life. Love this post and your blog.
